Sandra Hara, CPA is the tax and accounting partner of Barsa, Hara & Company, LLP. She brings to the organization, the team and our clients extensive experience and personal service. Sandra is a proven tax and accounting professional with over 30 years of experience, including 15 years in public accounting and tax and 15 years in the private sector. Her wide range of experience includes work with various companies from start up’s to organizations with revenues of $500 Million. She has held positions of Controller, CFO, COO and Tax Manager with a fortune 500 company, giving her the broad scope of knowledge to understand your business needs.
Sandra’s career in accounting and finance includes expertise in creating accounting policies and procedures as well as providing direction in all phases of accounting department management and operations. In addition, she has worked closely with a variety of industries including retail, construction, real estate, high-tech, industrial products, telecommunications, manufacturing and non-profit.
Prior to establishing Barsa, Hara & Company, LLP, Sandra was CFO/COO with Toyotalift, Inc., et al. She was responsible for overseeing both the financial management and operations of 5 locations including two sites in Mexico. During her tenure, she reduced Accounting and Administrative overhead by 80% over a six-month period by redesigning the structure of the financial operations and establishing company-wide performance and measurement statndards. Sandra also held the position of Domestic Tax Manager for World Exchange, Inc., where she was responsible for all tax compliance for the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. She got her start in the private sector as the Controller for Pure-Flo Water Companies of Santee, CA, where she spearheaded their technology initiative and was instrumental in growing the company from 55 employees to 165 employees in six years. Sandra received her audit experience from the international public accounting firm of Leventhol & Horwath, LLP and the well-known San Diego accounting firm, Lypsey, Millimaki & Compnay, LLP.
Born in Michigan, Sandra moved to San Diego where she received her Bachelor of Science degree from San Diego State University with an emphasis in Accounting as well as completing Masters level courses in tax. |
