| July 2005 - Barsa Achieves 37th Largest Women-Owned Business in San Diego |

Jo Barsa and Barsa Technology Solutions, Inc. / Barsa & Associates, CPA’s was recognized as the 37th largest women owned business in San Diego by the San Diego Business Journal. The top executives of these firms were honored at the Women’s Entrepreneurial Awards – a reception on July 13th at the Town and Country Hotel & Convention Center. For the first-ever event of its kind here in San Diego, the San Business Journal received tremendous response and was host to the top 50 companies at the reception.
The firms were ranked according to 2004 gross revenue, the total combined 2004 gross revenue of all 50 companies totals in excess of $662 million. Individually, the companies range in size from four to 3,200 staffers and hail from all parts of the region – from North County to South Bay and from the shores of La Jolla to the foothills of East County. Altogether, the top 50 San Diego Woman-Owned firms employ more than 7,600 people in San Diego and Nationwide. These top companies represent San Diego’s diverse economy – the list honors high-tech firms, healthcare organizations, developers, staffing agencies, marketing firms, catering companies, a dance fitness program and spas. |

Barsa Recognized as a “Technology Pacesetter”
Barsa Technology Solutions, Inc is recognized as a technology pacesetter in a special supplement to Accounting Today & Accounting Technology magazines. The publication entitled “Pacesetters, Business Software Trailblazers,” recognizes businesses based on their performance, including industry awards, leadership, industry reputation, sales per employee and growth.

The San Diego Society for Human Resource Management has nominated Barsa as one of the best companies to work for in San Diego. The Workplace Excellence event was created as an opportunity to educate and enlighten San Diego business leaders on the value and contribution that exceptional HR practices can make to the success and profitability of and organization. The event was held November 3, 2004 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt. |

Barsa Honored Twice by the San Diego Business Community
Jo Barsa, President and CEO of Barsa & Associates, CPAs and Barsa Technology Solutions, Inc., has been nominated and named a San Diego Business Journal 11th Annual Women Who Mean Business finalist. Jo was honored with this nomination again this year because of the contributions she has made to the accounting profession, her active roll in the community as well as her dedication and inspirational leadership of the entire Barsa team.
The second honor bestowed upon Barsa came from the San Diego Business Journal recognizing Barsa as 67th of San Diego’s Top 100 fastest growing privately held companies for 2004, at an event held September 29th at the Westgate Hotel. Armon Mills, President and Publisher of the San Diego Business Journal states, “The companies named grew anywhere from 8 percent to a remarkable 3,667 percent from 2001 to 2003, no small task, as they often fought against a dwindling economy.” |

The committee’s role is to develop, recommend and implement matters with respect to growing & retaining ITA members and their adherence to membership expectations. The Board is responsible for approval of plans & budgets, acceptance/expulsion of members, and establishing guidelines, criteria and policy for members. The ITA is a not-for-profit membership based association of leading firms engaged in the development, delivery and/or support of technology solutions for small and mid-sized businesses. |

Jo Barsa, president, CEO and founder of Barsa, participates in a San Diego Regional Technology Alliance panel to discuss, Tough talk for a tough economy: Entrepreneurs warn of startup pitfalls. Seminar attendees got startup advice from various perspectives: a venture capitalist, a lawyer, a certified public accountant, a headhunter, a chief executive and a chief financial officer. As the CPA, Jo suggests entrepreneurs consider their infrastructure options. Companies can function with an in-house team, independent contractors, Out-source entire functions, Out-Source specific functions or a combination thereof.
